This is one of the largest book repositories of the country and it is known as Lytton library. The library has seven storeys and over a million books and it is a must visit place of the city. The library has a special oriental division and it has exclusive collection of Urdu, Persian and Arabic texts. You can also search for Sanskrit manuscripts at this library. A large collection of science and technology books are also available at the library. Scholars from different fields can get valuable material at this library. Jama Masjid The mosque is done in Mughal architecture and it was constructed by Sabit Khan in the year 1727. The mosque can hold over 1000 people and the mosque is located in upper Kot. The mosque is accessible from any part of the city and it is part of the Aligarh Muslim University. Baba Barchi Bahadur Dargah This Dargah was built 600 years ago and devotees of all faiths throng this place to offer prayers. On the occasion of Urs devotees come here to pay homage to the saint.
